Make It Happen
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 325°F. Break apart your cookie dough cubes and place them 2” apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 13-17 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 2
For this recipe, you’ll need two heart-shaped cookie cutters. One should be just a little smaller than the size of your cookies. The other should be a size smaller than the first. Once your cookies are out of the oven, cut out all the cookies using the larger heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Step 3
For 1/3 of the cookies, use the smaller heart-shaped cutter to cut out the center of the cookies. These will make up the middle of the piñata cookies. Once you’ve cut out all your cookies, remove them from the cookie sheet and transfer to cooling racks. Let cool completely.
Step 4
Place your white chocolate pieces in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave for 30 seconds then stir. Continue microwaving for 30-second intervals, stirring in between each round, until the white chocolate is fully melted.
Step 5
Pour the melted white chocolate into a piping bag or resealable food storage bag and cut off a small corner at the bottom.
Step 6
Take one heart-shaped cookie that doesn’t have the center cut out and flip it upside down. Apply the white chocolate around the edge of the cookie.
Step 7
Place a cookie with the center cut out on top of the first cookie and press down slightly. Add a spoonful of caramel into the cut-out center.
Step 8
Apply a line of frosting around the edge of the middle cookie. Then, take another full-heart cookie and place it on top.
Step 9
Drizzle melted white chocolate on top of the assembled cookie and decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles before serving at your Galentine’s Day party, romantic dinner for two, or child’s classroom celebration.
